CTNx 2012

I'll be at CTNx in Burbank, CA from November 16-18. I'll be selling my latest sketchbook, "Bits and Pieces 5" as well as some ghoulish Shirts.
CTNx is a great event, created by the amazing and generous Tina Price, who also created the Creative Talent Network. I tell folks CTNx is an acoustic version of ComicCon, but much more intimate and geared toward folks who are interested in the animation industry. It's a chance to meet the most amazing and talented folks who make animation their craft. I highly recommend everyone to attend.

Please stop by and say hello. My booth is T-09, just right of the entrance. I'll have a list of talented folks who will attend and exhbit CTNx a bit later.

Sounds of Shirts

UPDATE: Hi folks, thank you so much for all your comments and suggestions! Yes, we're having trouble with the video portions of our blog but hopefully we will resolve that real soon. And yes, we, my wife and I will be at CTNx, I selling my latest sketchbook and my wife selling her shirts. I'll have further information on a later post. Again, thank you all so much for the love and support!!

I'm excited to announce the opening of "Sounds of Shirts". It's a store created by my wife Erin Filoteo which features T-shirts (designed by me) with keen graphics and have sound pockets attached to the sleeve. Push the button and you get a ghoulish laugh to go with your cool T! Right now there are three shirts available for Halloween but soon we will have more Ts available for other seasonal events. Drop by and let us know what you think (comments can be added here on my blog or way down on the bottom of the page on the storeblog)! Happy shopping!

Andy Gaskill - The Lion King

More beautiful work from Andy Gaskill for the Lion King. Awesome compositions!

Andy Gaskill - The Goofy Movie

For those who haven't seen it, definitely check out the Goofy Movie! It's well done, nicely animated and has great artwork! These are early story moments conceived by the amazing Andy Gaskill. He's a prolific Art Director, Production Designer and workbook artist. I love how loose and energetic his sketches are, and even more so how he can get a feeling of story and mood into his pieces!

Remembrance for Kevyn Wallace

This is a post in remembrance of a good friend and awesome artist Kevyn Wallace. About a year ago, Kevyn died at 47 in a horrific car accident in Burbank, CA by a drunk driver. At the time of his death, he was completing a master's program in filmmaking and completing a documentary on African American artists in the animation industry.

He was an amazing spirit and always had a smile on his face. He left us way too early and I hope with this small post that his legacy and spirit always continue.

Via Cartoon Brew, Kevyn's family is making a public plea for support and asking those in the LA area to attend a hearing for Kevyn against the drunk driver, who has yet served time. The location is for Monday, August 27 at 8:30am at the Los Angeles Criminal Courts Building, 210 West Temple Street, 11th floor, Room 114.

I cannot attend but will be there in spirit and pass the word for those who can.

As important, I hope one day that Kevyn's film be completed so his love and passion for this industry always continue!!!!
