Tinkerbell

Wow, it took awhile but Tinkerbell is finally out on video. I first worked on Tinkerbell about 3 years ago. It was to say the least quite an adventure. There were story issues, the change from 2D to 3D, an ever changing schedule with harrowing deadlines, and many more things which made the completion of the project a challenging one, but through it all, it was amazing and one of the best experiences I've ever had. I had the chance to work with some of the most amazing designers and storyboard artists. If you have a chance to see Tink, go check it out. Here are some very quick sketches I produced for one of the sequences. Fast and furious, but fun!

These look great!

Stupid question, but what materials are you using for these sketches? I've always been a sucker for these kinds of rough, loose drawings.

Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for your generous comments! Max, I used an Ebony Smooth Pencil and use the 11 x 17 laser printer paper. It has a nice sleek quality which makes for good tones.

I've been checking this blog out for over a year and haven't commented before, but these sketches are so great I had to say something. A couple people have commented on how effortless they look, and they do, I really love the loose-yet-controled look of your drawings. Your debth of field, perspective, and tones add so much to your sketches - I'm saving these to my nevarez folder. A big thanks for all the links you keep posting too.
