if you want more control, why not try to pen tool? Course it looks like you already got some great results as is, so i guess if it aint broke don't fix it.
i want to see it toooooo! it doesn't come up for me either. so i have decided to imagine a very great thing..........................yeah, in the words of Melissa in the movie 'TWISTER'........................." it is great.......what is it?"
hola! no me conoces, pero bueno, yo comento! me ha parecido muy curiosa tu forma de trabajar, como de collage... me gusta! los gatos también me han gustado mucho, muy chulos!! espero que entiendas castellano, porque como tenga que escribir en inglés...
If you were looking for more control you may consider using illustrator to create all your paths (shapes) and then past them into photoshop and keep them as paths. You may have to adjust your preferences to allow it as I think by default it rasterizes illustrator objects. If that was not clear you can check it out in the "help" in PS. Just search illustrator and you will find it. That should also give you some extra flexability, but it's just my 2 cents. Like chia said, if it ain't broke don't fix it.
